Kadın istihdamı, sürdürülebilir kalkınma ve toplumsal refahın temel bileşenlerinden biri olarak, çağdaş ekonomilerde hem ekonomik büyümenin hem de sosyal adaletin sağlanmasında belirleyici bir işlev üstlenmektedir. Türkiye’de kadın iş gücü ekonomik, toplumsal ve kültürel birçok faktörün etkisiyle iş hayatına katılamamakta ve işsiz kalmaktadır. Bu nedenle kadın işsizliği, ülkenin üretim potansiyelinde kayıp, sosyal dışlanma ve aile yapısının bozulması gibi birçok sorunu beraberinde getirmektedir. Öte yandan kadın işsizliği, birey ve hane halklarının yoksulluğunu derinleştirmekte ve gelir dağılımında dengesizliğe yol açmaktadır. Bu nedenle kadın işsizliği, Türkiye’de var olan bölgesel ekonomik farklılıkların önemli bir kaynağı olarak kabul görmektedir. Bu çalışma, Türkiye’nin 26 bölgesinde kadın işsizliğinin bölgesel gelir eşitsizliği üzerindeki etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu kapsamda, 2015-2023 dönemi, dinamik panel veri yöntemleri ile analiz edilmiştir. Üç farklı GMM tahmincisinden elde edilen bulgular, bölgesel düzeyde kadın işsizliğinin bölgesel gelir eşitsizliğini artırdığını ortaya koymaktadır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, kadın istihdamının artırılmasına yönelik bölgesel politikaların önemini bir kez daha gözler önüne sermektedir. Ayrıca kişi başı gelir ve nüfus değişkenleri tüm tahminci sonuçlarına göre bölgesel gelir dağılımı üzerinde anlamlı etkilere sahip değişkenler olarak tespit edilmiştir.
